Made in China

Made in China is a branding and identity system for a fictitious museum exhibit that exposes the impact of Chinese consumerism. The words “Made In China” invokes images of cheaply manufactured and low-quality goods. Private industry and government work to manufacture billions of items, but at what cost?

The final deliverables include interactive print posters with accompanying handmade vinyl stickers printed in English and Chinese, an exhibition booklet featuring the work of Chinese artists: Biying Shi, Cao Fei and Xu Zhen, and a series of social media advertisements. This interactive exhibition challenges the way we think about labels by letting the viewer approach the posters and label them.
